Knebworth House will host a one-off evening of “Best Loved Poems” on Sunday 27th June as the final evening of the Knebworth Village Festival. The poems will be read by the actor Colin Greenslade who delights audiences in the House every year with his reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
The programme will include everyone’s favourite poems from Shakespeare, Tennyson, Kipling, Betjeman… right through to Pam Ayres and a selection of Colin’s favourite comic poems. The readings will be interspersed with musical interludes from cellist Catherine Wilmers. The evening begins at 7pm with a glass of sparkling wine and a wander in the beautiful Knebworth House gardens and light refreshments will be served in the interval.
